Nine year old Aobakoe Molate from Kwagasrand Primary School could not hide the joy on her face as she walked out of the Atterbury Theatre after watching the Bestmed Healthy Habits play presented to her on Monday 10th March. “The play taught us not to eat junk food, not to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. We also learnt that we should use sunscreen to protect our skin.”
Following a successful launch of the Healthy Habits initiative in 2013, Bestmed in collaboration with CANSA and Incolabs, will take this theatrical production to Atterbury Theatre at the Lynnwood Bridge Centre on Monday, 10th March. The initiative is meant to educate scholars about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, amongst others and caring for one’s skin.
Johan Gouws (44) of Fairlands and Dieter von Staden (44) of Cresta will be taking part as Team AE Aurigae in the 2014 Absa Cape Epic. Colloquially described as the ‘Tour de France of Mountain Biking’, the event will take place from 23 to 30 March 2014. For eight consecutive days, 600 teams will make their way through the challenging mountain biking terrain in the Western Cape.
