A Sowetan is a CEO of a global company

Thusang Mahlangu achieved his vision of becoming CEO at 40 when he was appointed Africa CEO for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) early this year. Born and bred in Pimville Zone 7, Soweto, he joined the corporate insurer in 2013 as Head of Market Management to develop sales and distribution across Africa. He subsequently became Head of Property in 2014.

Momentum has appointed a new Head of Financial Planning

Member of the JSE-listed MMI Holdings group, Momentum Consult has appointed Bertie Nel as the new Head of Financial Planning, effective 23 January 2017.

One Re appoints a new chairman of the board

Nicholas Davenport spent nearly 30 years at Willis, where he was a board member of both group operating companies, wholesale and retail, as well as a number of overseas offices. He was a director responsible for Africa for 10 of those years. More recently he was a board member of Chubb Europe. In addition to his role at One Re he is currently Chairman of a Lloyd's managing agent and Board member of a French Insurance Company.
