LegalWize ad makes a mockery of insurance

Being a claims investigator myself, I felt utterly disgusted with this advert. Maybe they should start airing the drunken driving cases that kill people that we have to investigate. Or the fraudulent claims that we have to investigate and then they can beg the public to make use of their services. Next topic, I don't wear the heavy gold chains as depicted in the advert, nor have I ever been overseas and sat on a boat or island with cocktails. We aren't incentivised to decline claims, we are incentivised to provide customer service. NOTE - this comment is made in my personal capacity and not on behalf of my employer.

S 8(c) of the STIA provides that no person shall publish any advertisement, brochure or similar communication which relates to the business of a short-term insurer which is misleading or contrary to the public interest or contains an incorrect statement of fact.
I believe there are grounds for lodging a formal complaint with the Insurance Division of the FSB

Sorry bud,
This email email typifies the complaints of those who come to me after going direct.

Unfortunately it does tarnish the industry, but by the same token the industry must take it on the chin.

For as long the direct product suppliers carry on the way they do, they make a positive case for the IFA.
