Insurer ad on radio

Dear editor

Having just read the article instered regarding South Africans and Retirement Provision.  The latest Old Mutual advert regarding payouts to two individuals, the one gentleman receives his cheque with the employer stating tongue in cheek that he will not be happy with his payout.  The next "skit" the lady receives her cheque from her employer and the comment is she will be happy with her payout.  Now the crunch of my objection: Why are they advertising with young people withdrawing from their pension funds?  Surely this is bad publicity and negating all that we do for clients as planners?  I feel Old Mutual should be shot down. Rather advertise with people reaching retirement and either being happy or dissatisfied?  Then sell your plan protection which is what is on offer?

Just a suggestion that Brokers dont keep getting the bad publicity, nail the companies to for false expectations.

If you had to hazard a guess, when do you reckon the COFI Bill will be signed into law?
