SSP further enhances its capability with acquisition of Business Edge’s general insurer operations

SSP, a leading global provider of insurance technology announced today that it has acquired part of its South African sales and implementation partner, Business Edge, with whom it has worked closely over a number of years.

Under the terms of the agreement SSP will take over the personnel and resources of Business Edge that have been engaged over the past four years in the deployment of SSP’s cutting-edge component-based solution SSP Select Insurance (formerly Insure^J) into the African region. The acquisition will add a number of highly skilled and experienced insurance technology specialists to the SSP team.

The deal comes at a time when insurers are starting to develop their strategic technology platforms to reduce costs and meet the demands of modern consumers and multi-channel distribution.
