PROFIDA a leader in data exchange and technology integration

20 July 2011 | Technology | General | PROFIDA

PROFIDA, the provider of financial services software and insurance management solutions, has developed a flexible importation facility that allows users to import policy and underwriting data on an ad hoc or regular basis.

Cell captive and general administrators, for whom manual capturing is not feasible due to high volumes of policy data, increasingly utilise the ability to import policy data within PROFIDA. Data in CSV format is sent via a source file by the cell insurer or telesales partner and is uploaded directly into PROFIDA.

This upload of data automatically creates personal and policy data as well as money collection records to be queued for debit order runs or cash collections.

Says Daniel Putra, Managing Director of the PROFIDA Team: “The successful importation of data from one software source to another requires time consuming mapping of both data structures. Changes to source files made by the cell insurer at a later stage require remapping. This is a costly process.”

Successful implementation of the import capability required a solution to the challenge of ongoing program remapping while keeping costs low. The second challenge was to ensure that PROFIDA users enjoy a competitive advantage as a result of the importation tool to deal easily with high business volumes from different business partners.

The solution lay in an easy to use and flexible user interface to enable the mapping of data from different source files and to accommodate ongoing data mapping changes without the involvement of a developer. Users are empowered to react immediately when changes have been made and to remap columns and fields accordingly.

“We are proud of the new importation solution, which we consider to be a first of its kind in insurance and policy management software,” says Putra.

The PROFIDA Team will be exhibiting with its new custom-designed exhibition stand at the conference organised by the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA), taking place at Sun City from 24 to 27 July 2011.
