Ocellics’ Fund Factsheet platform enables investment managers to digitally transform a critical part of their businesses

Software consultancy and solution provider, Ocellics, has successfully launched – and proven – a software platform for fund factsheets that eliminates manual bottlenecks and reduces the risk of inaccurate data.

The platform empowers investment managers to make quick and informed decisions, transforming a previously time-consuming process into a seamless, reliable publishing workflow.

The Ocellics Fund Factsheets platform is gaining traction in the fund manager space both with high volume discretionary fund and boutique fund managers.

With the likes of Old Mutual Wealth producing hundreds of fund factsheets monthly, the Ocellics Fund Factsheets platform has turned the prior administrative burden into a competitive advantage. Ocellics Fund Data Services Director and Business Development Manager, Jonathan McKie, says the next growth phase of the solution will enable an even wider range of large and boutique investment managers the opportunity to transform a critical part of their businesses digitally.

Fund factsheet data is often drawn from disparate systems and then needs to be organised centrally, often into Excel. From here risk stats and periodic fund performance calculations are made, introducing the risk of manual errors or data inconsistencies. It’s not surprising that many fund management companies find producing factsheets to be a challenge.

The Ocellics Fund Factsheets allows on-platform data inputs or for automated data ingestion of custom data files and industry standard ASISA files. Once fund data is sourced, the solution generates monthly return and risk statistics automatically.

Beyond this, explains McKie, the intelligent platform dashboard includes advanced template design capabilities and a publish workflow methodology that enables a well-managed publication process, complete with data validation, draft watermarks, and directions of which next steps are required. “The solution’s design is built on user-friendliness and efficiency,” says McKie.

Fund factsheets are a window into a fund management company’s unique value proposition and investment philosophy, explains McKie. Individually created fact sheets are often full of design inconsistencies, including incorrect brand colours, misaligned or outdated logos, inconsistent margins and much more.

“Cleaning this up immediately portrays design and brand consistency alongside data accuracy, to deliver on the promise of digital transformation: Improved efficiency, accuracy and quality at scale, done quicker than could ever have been imagined following outdated manual processes.

“The importance of brand consistent, timeous, informative, and accurate fund factsheets cannot be understated,” concludes McKie.
