International insurance solutions firm TIA appoints Ovations as local partner
Johannesburg-based business performance improvement consulting firm Ovations has been appointed as an implementation and solutions partner by Copenhagen-headquartered TIA Technology, an international leader in tailor-made core line-of-business solutions for the insurance industry.
Established in Denmark in 1986, TIA started life as a short term insurance company before a management buyout in the mid 1990s saw it transform into a software house providing integrated, one-stop-shop software solutions for insurance companies. Today, TIA has more than 46 customers in 23 countries including three in South Africa. International clients include giants such as Allianz, Aviva and Royal Sun Alliance while local clients include Mutual & Federal.
“We provide a core, integrated solution based on an intelligent workflow system for insurance companies’ front and back office needs,” explained Christian Pedersen, TIA Global Sales Executive, adding that the company is also extending its reach into the long term insurance, bancassurance and health insurance industries.
Central to TIA’s strategy is the creation of business advantage for insurance companies through the provision of a complete software package with all modules necessary for an efficient and customer-oriented insurance enterprise.
The TIA Solution is a modular, integrated core insurance solution that provides insurers with benefits throughout the value chain. The solution can be used by insurance companies in their direct or broker sales and marketing channels. Software solutions developed by TIA are based on intimate first-hand knowledge of the insurance industry and are multi-currency and multi-language based. Annual upgrades and platform enhancements improve functionality and performance.
Ovations, which employs more than 90 consultants in South Africa, was chosen as an implementation and solutions partner because of its extensive experience and expertise in implementing process-driven solutions in the insurance and financial services industries.
“There is a good cultural fit between ourselves and Ovations. We are impressed by their strong presence and penetration in the local insurance industry,” said Pedersen.
“Our footprint in and knowledge of the short term and long term insurance sectors in Southern Africa is built on key relationships and we have been involved in a number of major projects aimed at improving business processes, workflow, content management, efficiency and flexibility,” said George Smalberger from Ovations.
“We believe that our consulting expertise and knowledge of the local market will add great value to TIA’s robust product offering. We look forward to helping clients in the South African insurance industry transform their businesses through the implementation of the cost effective, comprehensive core system offered by TIA.”
