Digital innovator pioneers SA’s first electronic loose-leaf solution
LexisMobile provides authority of print with flexibility of digital.
South African legal and tax practitioners can now access their entire loose-leaf library on-the-go and at the tap of a finger with South Africa’s first legal mobile app, Lexis Mobile ® from LexisNexis South Africa.
Larsen Lockwood-Hall, the company’s Strategy, Business Development and Content Executive, said the solution capitalised on the way in which mobile technologies and increasing levels of personal connectivity were fundamentally altering the way that customers work.
“We recognise that these technologies bring with them a whole host of new opportunities for improved legal research, referencing and collaboration tools and that’s why we are constantly working with practitioners from across the profession to develop pioneering solutions that enable them to access information easily and efficiently and to make more informed decisions,” he said.
“LexisMobile is South Africa’s first mobile referencing tool and one of the first steps on the journey to ensure that our content is constantly at our customers fingertips, wherever they are, or whatever device they are using,” he added.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of legal and tax practitioners, the innovative iPad application will allow users to carry and reference their LexisNexis digital libraries both on- and offline, with automatic updating of changes, advanced referencing and highlighting functionalities.
All leading LexisNexis titles will be made available digitally via LexisMobile. The app is also integrated with the MyLexisNexis deep research library which gives a personalised, comprehensive view of electronic legal information and enables full searching across all included library content.
It is expected that the new digital solution could help overcome many of the hurdles associated with printed loose-leaf publications. Using Lexis Mobile ® users can now carry and reference their legal content 24/7 both on- and offline, saving time and filing space. It also works out more cost effective than its print predecessor since all content updates are included in the subscription price.
“We are excited about this innovative game changer for our customers and the South African legal and tax industry and we expect that it will continue to support the migration of the profession towards digital solutions,” said Lockwood-Hall.
