Acuideas officially launched on 01 March 2016
Peter Olyott, CEO of Indwe.
Two years in the making, Acuideas an initiative from Indwe Risk Services, breaks the mould and provides both the independent broker and the product provider with a new way of doing business.
For the independent broker there is the ability to remain independent while benefitting from greater buying power. Other advantages include succession planning to safeguard the value of your practice, lowered operating costs, and access to skilled technical resources through the Acuideas shared engine room (SER). In addition, you gain access to TCF-compliant new and leading products, as well as advice practice.
Acuideas not only reduces costs but also plays a proactive role in growing the broker’s business through proven business strategies and products.
Acuideas Executive Head, Sujeeth Bishoon comments, “New trends and regulations in the insurance sector are forcing companies to relook the way they do business. Some role players are selling out – although market conditions are becoming such that it is difficult to realise a good price – as a result of uncertainty the RDR process is placing on future valuations of advisory businesses.” He adds that product providers are also forced to evaluate their costs of delivery and service when compared to the increasing number of new players in the market – this is forcing them to find alternative ways to cost-effectively service and retain the business of smaller intermediaries. Using proven techniques and business approaches, Acuideas steps in by offering a professional, cost-effective portfolio management solution to these books of business.
With an expected R2bn + worth of premium buying power at its disposal, a network of 25 branches across the country, and a recently announced 51% Black Empowerment Shareholding through investment by African Rainbow Capital in Indwe, Acuideas promotes a new Collaborative Partnership Model (CPM) in the insurance sector. This is supported by cutting edge product development and personal, yet professional, business relationships.
Indwe CEO, Peter Olyott, says that the difference between Acuideas and other business offerings such as administrators or product houses, is that “Acuideas is born of an insurance broking house and therefore our people speak and understand the pressures and needs of a broker.” The business is run as a separate and distinct entity and has its own IT system platform and administrative services – ensuring total separation of Indwe Risk Services customer data and client base.
