So when do they pay?
I wonder what is going on, and why it appears that the some of the ombuds and the FSB are not singing off the same song sheet?
First we hear about the pfa deciding not to renew his contract in March next year, citing personality clashes and lack of support. Then we hear the FAIS ombud saying that its time that the legal system got brave and sentenced people to jail time for illegal activities and now the same ombud wondered aloud about the 'distrurbing track records' of the people behind the Leaderguard crookery.
And addd to which we read about that lovely gentleman's agreement where a wrong doer identified as doing something illegal concerning trading in shares in JSE listed entities paying a fine but not admitting guilt - So how does that work?
Why is it that people think they can get away with illegal activities, and why is it that the FSB doesn't want to throw these crooks into jail. Because that's what they are - crooks.
It appears that one of the reasons provided is that the alleged crooks have superiorly intelligent legal resources, while the state hasn't got the cash to employ the clever ones?
So why not follow the example of the SARS who were in the same position several years ago - get the budget from central government and employ people who are brave, clever and can outwit the bad guys?
Could it be that there is no political will to do this? Could it be something else?
