2021… it’s time to close this chapter

15 December 2021 Rianet Whitehead

The year 2021 will be remembered as a year of change, a year of getting used to the new normal. There’s a lot to write about and so many questions with no answers… I have a feeling that most our audience is happy that 2021 is nearing its end. From our side we would like to thank you for reading our magazine, our newsletters and for visiting our website and we would like to thank everyone who engages with us on a regular basis. We at FAnews are very passionate about our role and purpose, and we take it serious, because we know how important that role is.

We know for many the wheels keep on turning during December, so if you are around, do remember that now might be the ideal time to catch up on your CPD hours. If you are not registered with us to do your CPD, it might be a good time to join the 20 0000 CPD users on one of the most user-friendly CPD platforms out there to make your CPD journey a seamless one. Just register on and follow the steps. There is no cost no use our platform and no cost to download the FAnews Magazine from the website, so there is absolutely no reason not to make use of the system. An added benefit is the fact that you can do your CPD articles on our industry-first WhatsApp platform, which means that you can literally do you CPD articles anywhere and anytime. This really takes user-friendly to the next level… try it.

As the year is drawing to a close, we hope that you have found enough meaningful and solid content in this year’s magazine editions and newsletters that will make you keep on reading FAnews. Always know that you, our readers, are the reason for our existence and we thank you for the feedback we are receiving. Our mission is to keep you informed, to keep you intrigued and to make sure you get all the answers you need. Please keep on sending us your feedback and request for specific topics – we enjoy the interaction and we are here to ask the questions to product and service providers you don’t want to ask. Just connect with us… we will be happy to engage.

Steve Jobs once said “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”  And as we really want to forget about the past two years, I think we really should think of all the positive things that came out of it and build on that.

I would like to believe that 2022 will be good for us as an industry, but there are some real concerns for the future. I have no doubt that we have already seen the real impact of both global warming and cyber security and approaching this from an insurance perspective might be quite challenging. The future is everchanging… there is no doubt!

May you have a peaceful festive season and a well-deserved break. Jeff Rich once said “The one thing we know about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.” Let’s enjoy this time of the year… let’s reconnect with loved ones and come back renewed and refreshed ready for a new year with new challenges. Our wish for you for 2022 is simple… health, happiness and prosperity.

Take care!
