A game-changer for the industry
Season 11 of The Insurance Apprentice wasn’t business as usual - it marked a seismic shift. For the first time ever, the show was filmed for national broadcast on SABC 3, expanding its reach beyond digital platforms and into the homes of thousands of South Africans.

This year, more than 30 companies got involved, throwing their weight behind the show’s mission to grow talent, spark transformation, and elevate public awareness about what insurance truly offers. With 160+ applications, over 20 judges, and some rigorous challenges filmed over a few days, this was one of the most ambitious seasons to date.
More than ever, the contestants tackled real-world challenges head-on, confronting issues like diversity and the urgent need for skills development. These weren’t just passing topics - they were reflective of the conversations shaping the industry today.
And while only one contestant walked away with the title, every finalist gained something far greater: sharpened skills, lifelong connections, and the confidence to lead change. After months of intense boardrooms, tough tasks, and moments of pure grit, Series 11 of The Insurance Apprentice reached its thrilling conclusion - culminating in the crowning of Khaya Mashologu, Agri Team Leader at Old Mutual Insure, as The Insurance Apprentice 2025.
FAnews and The Insurance Apprentice team extend their heartfelt congratulations to him. We also celebrate every single contestant who had the courage to step into the spotlight this year. From the Top 20 to the Top 3, you’ve helped raise the bar and shown that the future of the insurance industry is not only bright but bold.
But the journey doesn’t end with the finale or the TIA2025 magazine.
TIA Talks, the podcast extension of the series, continues the conversation with raw, relevant insights from past contestants, industry leaders, and experts. If you haven’t tuned in yet, now’s the time.
