Meet the #TIA2019 finalists

22 November 2018 Myra Knoesen

The start of The Insurance Apprentice 2019 journey began on 24 October with the profile shoot of the 2019 finalists, sponsored by Hollard.

Andries Wiese, Head of Hollard Insure’s Agri team spoke to The Insurance Apprentice finalists about making a difference and creating #BetterFutures. He gave a short presentation on Hollard Insure’s product spread with a specific focus on Agri insurance.

A learning moment

Wiese shared some interesting facts around agri insurance and then set forth a mini task for the finalists. Split into two groups, they were presented with a deck of cards which represented agri insurance sectors. The groups then had to figure out which extensions fitted with each sector. The groups were then led to the Hollard cows on the verandah, who were on standby for the no-bull activation. Armed with large sticky notes and marker pens, they had to recall as many facts as they had been given as possible, write them down and festoon their cows with the notes.

A clip of each apprentice

This was then followed by the profile shoot of each apprentice. Hear what each finalist has to say as they share their educational journey, how they ended up in the industry and why they decided to enter The Insurance Apprentice.

Editor’s thoughts:
The competition for series five is interesting – a mix we’ve never seen before, but only time will tell who will be crowned the 2019 Insurance Apprentice. Please comment below, interact with us on Twitter at @fanews_online or email me your thoughts at
