Travel Risks Covered with Cartrack’s Happy Button

20 March 2013 Cartrack SA

Cartrack’s Happy Button is a value-added service available to clients with an installed Cartrack tracking system, and is the antidote to virtually any mishap or crisis. It provides a range of services such as Lawyer SOS, medical and emergency services no

Happy Button services include:

• If you find yourself on the receiving end of an arrest (whether wrongful or not), activating the LAWYER SOS on your Happy Button will link you up with legal assistance. The call centre receiving the distress signal will contact you and confirm the need for a criminal lawyer. If confirmed, the call centre will ensure that a lawyer is dispatched to the police station within three hours of arrest to assist you with any bail application and further legal assistance required to get you out of a nasty situation. In reality the ordinary man on the street does not have the legal knowledge or access to legal support to get out of such a quandary, nor do you want to provide a short-fused individual packing a 9mm pistol an opportunity that unethical officials will exploit for their own purposes.

The offer does however exclude bail costs. As a Cartrack member you will need to pay a standard flat rate charge of R2,000 that will cover the initial lawyer’s fee. Thereafter you have the option of appointing the Lawyer SOS representative to assist you further or to appoint your own lawyer, should you prefer.

• The Medical and Emergency Services Notification on your Cartrack Happy Button incorporates a range of personalised identification methods to identify you in the case of an accident or medical emergency. The call centre agent will be able to relay a notification of an emergency to the police department, traffic department, the fire brigade, ambulance services, your security company or any other emergency service provider. Any costs levied by the emergency services will however be for your account.

Roadside Assistance service gets you immediate assistance with issues such as a flat battery or tyre, keys locked in the vehicle, fuel assistance, minor roadside-running repairs, transmission of urgent messages and a tow in service in the event of mechanical or electrical breakdown.

• If you’re lost or simply in need of directions to a destination, press your Happy Button for assistance. A Cartrack call centre agent will phone you, and because they will already know where you are through our tracking system, you just need to supply the address for your destination. Directions will be sent to you via SMS.

• Your Happy Button is your link to accommodation in your required specified area, budget and taste. The call centre will SMS you with a reservation number, address and contact number or you can choose to make your booking directly. Any accommodation costs incurred will be for your own account.

Cartrack’s Happy Button is just a smile away – every moment, every day, anywhere in South Africa, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that help and support are just a Happy Button away for you and your loved ones.
