Time flies when you’re having fun!
It seems like only moments ago that we penned the first lines of the opening FAnews Online newsletter for 2008. In the 12-months that followed we’ve covered dozens of financial scandals, corporate results, countless regulatory interventions and enough economic turmoil to last a lifetime. And we’ve had a great time doing it. There’s nothing we enjoy more than encouraging debate around the news and developments in the financial services industry.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for being such loyal and dedicated readers. Without you we’re nothing more than lumps of text floating around in cyber space. Your frequent participation in the issues raised on FAnews Online ensures that the website and newsletter remain the leading platform to share views on the events that dominate the industry. We’d also like to extend a special word of thanks to those of you who regularly speak your mind – offering opinion and expanding the debate on topical industry issues. We’ll not mention you by name; but you know who you are!

But now its time to take a breather… FAnews Online is going on holiday until 12 January 2009. We wish you and your family a happy and peaceful festive season. We trust you’ll be able to forget about the shaky economy and the many stresses in the financial services environment for a few weeks to focus on the things that really matter – family and friends!
