With 116 applications received for The Insurance Apprentice, the first ever reality type series the South African insurance industry has ever seen, the panellists have chosen the top 21 applicants they have identified as potential Apprentices.
Having been through the first round of a really tough selection process, panelists sifted through the fine applications in order to identify the best possible candidates for the programme.
As the 21 applicants move onto the next round, they have been advised to bring their ’A-game' to make sure they form part of the final six, as they will be participating in an unusual and fairly exciting interview process that will have them thinking out of the box.
The last leg of the race…
With the 21 applicants chosen for the second round of the selection process, the competition remains stiff, if not much stiffer as these applicants get ready to battle it out in order to mark their spot in the final six of The Insurance Apprentice.
Rianet Whitehead, Editor of FAnews says, “the process remains tough as we have to choose six people from some fine potential applicants, to take part in what promises to be a highly entertaining and uniquely educational experience for not only the six apprentices, but for the whole industry.”
“As we tackle the second round of the selection process we move closer to the last leg of the race in order to identify the final six,” says Whitehead.
Back to basics
She goes on to say that this is the ideal opportunity to portray our industry as an industry young people would willingly want to enter into as a choice of career. As Peter Todd, President at the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) said, “The Insurance Apprentice will show people the fun and serious side of the industry by highlighting that you can have a real career and have fun.”
“The idea of The Insurance Apprentice is to showcase an industry filled with opportunities to a wider audience. Part of the effort we are putting in is to try and change the perception that our industry is a dull and serious industry in which people only end up by accident,” continues Whitehead.
Supporting skills development
This initiative, brought to you by FAnews, has sponsors who support this initiative whole heartedly and is fully supported by the IISA. To date, Inseta, Hollard, MUA, AUM, Milpark, Lloyds of London, FNB Insurance, Mutual & Federal, Aexander Forbes and Fulcrum have jumped on board and have officially confirmed their support.
These companies are proud to be able to show their commitment to The Insurance Apprentice through supporting the skills development of young industry representatives and helping them prepare for a rewarding future, and at the same time showcasing our industry to a much bigger audience.
If you are committed to playing a part in influencing the lives of these individuals and are looking for an opportunity to make a difference on a platform that will be a first for our industry, there are more sponsorship opportunities available.
