SSP, a leading global provider of insurance technology, has chosen to support the Tomorrow Trust over the last two years.

Founded in 2005, the organisation was initially created to assist Orphaned Vulnerable Children (OVC) with Post Secondary education in order to assist them in becoming self-sustaining individuals. It was however soon realised by founder Kim Feinberg and her team that simply taking these youths on after they had completed high school was insufficient as their school leaving results were inadequate and also did not allow them to access Post Secondary education.

The Tomorrow Trust accordingly created a structure that contains three steps in providing these OVC with a sustainable exit strategy from charity through education. This includes a holiday school programme, Post Secondary programme and finally assistance in finding employment.

“When we first heard about the programme, we jumped at the opportunity to become involved,” says Rhys Collins, SSP’s Head of Operations. “We believe strongly in helping disadvantaged individuals become self sufficient by equipping them with the necessary education and life skills. For us it has been a very rewarding journey. We have started off by sponsoring the university studies for two young men who also come to SSP for part-time work during vacations. Upon successful completion of their studies we shall also provide them with permanent employment at SSP.

“Where possible we also support all the various fund raising initiative events hosted by the Trust and we will look to grow our sponsorship over time,” says Collins.

“We will continue to support Tomorrow Trust and as our business grows in South Africa look to increase the number of learners we can subsidise,” concludes Collins.
