Sechaba donates computers to disabled children

30 April 2008 | People and Companies | News | Sechaba Medical Solutions

Sechaba Medical Solutions, one of South Africa’s leading medical fund administrators, recently donated 10 new personal computers to Action for Blind and Disabled Children, a non-governmental organisation that offers free computer skills tuition.

Action is the only institution in South Africa that provides this free tuition without any government funding. In addition to providing computer skills tuition, Action for Blind and Disabled Children also provides free Grade 12 tuition, transport to and from classes and a meal on class days to visually impaired and physically disabled students.

“We are grateful to any company, organisation or individual who can assist us in our endeavour to provide our students with the necessary skills to support themselves,” says Ian Bottomley, Treasurer and co-founder of Action for Blind and Disabled Children.

Commenting on the donation, Thokozani Magwaza, CEO of Sechaba Medical Solutions says, “We are honoured to be a part of such a wonderful cause and salute the team who work so passionately and strive daily to assist these people. We are proud of Action’s achievement and our donation is the least we can do as a token of our gratitude for their tireless efforts.”
