Santam helps South Africans dream big
In conjunction with O, The Oprah Magazine and SABC 3, Santam, South Africa's largest short-term insurer, has launched the Dream Big SA campaign, which will see 10 South Africans winning their ultimate dream.
This comes in the wake of the insurer's renewed focus on social investment, much of which revolves around uplifting South African's lives through skills development and education in some of the countrys most impoverished areas.
The campaign has already started and will be profiled monthly in O, The Oprah Magazine and SABC 3, with the insurer's backing.
"We are asking South Africans to tell us what their wildest dreams are and we are hoping to make those dreams come true," says Thami Ngubeni, editor of O, The Oprah Magazine.
"Sponsoring Dream Big SA is a natural fit for us," says Jeanne Fouch, brand manager of Santam. "As a short-term insurer, we aim to add meaning to the lives of South Africans, uplifting where possible, and providing accessible insurance advice and risk-reducing solutions for all."
Over the next months the 'dream team' will collate all submissions to profile the first winner in the November 2007 issue of O magazine and on SABC 3. Interested dreamers are invited to submit their dreams through entry mechanisms published in the O magazine.
An official Dream Big SA website has also been launched to facilitate online entries and provide interested parties with more information.
"We are extremely excited about this project," says Dineo Mondlane from SABC 3. "The feel-good factor involved in this project is immense and I am sure everyone who watches it on television will be encouraged to see ordinary South Africans reaching their wildest dreams."
