Sanlam SENS news - Withdrawal of joint cautionary announcement

The shareholders of Sanlam and Santam are referred to the joint cautionary announcement released on SENS on 23 August 2006 and published in the press on 24 August 2006, and are advised that the discussions referred to therein have been terminated. Sanlam and Santam will work together to identify areas of closer co-operation between the companies.
Accordingly, shareholders of Sanlam and Santam are advised that they are no longer required to exercise caution when dealing in their shares.
