RMB Asset Management appoints Chief Strategist

After an extensive search, we are pleased to announce that Gordon Smith joined RMB Asset Management from 1 February. Gordon is currently working from our London offices, getting closer to the international business before heading to our shores on 1 April 2009.
Gordon has had a long and industrious career in investment markets, where he has done award- winning work as an analyst and SA Chief Economist at Deutsche Securities, and later Citigroup. During his more than 12 years in these roles, he was regularly voted as one of the top economists and strategists in his field. Gordon will be responsible for our macro-economic strategy going forward and will be a senior member of RMB Asset Management’s Investment Committee.
