RGA Announces Donation to Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Efforts

Tokyo, Japan, March 23, 2011 -- Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA) announced today that it is donating USD $50,000 to the Japanese Red Cross and the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) Disaster Relief Fund in support of their relief efforts to assist the people and communities affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan.

"We extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to those who have been directly affected by this enormous tragedy, and offer our support and sincere wishes for their recovery," said Allan O’Bryant, President and Chief Executive Officer, RGA Reinsurance Company Japan Branch, and Executive Vice President and Head of International Operations and Markets, RGA. "RGA has close ties to Japan and is committed to the continued growth of its insurance industry and overall economy. Today, 73 RGA employees live in Japan and work from our office in midtown Tokyo. We are deeply grateful that each of our Tokyo employees was accounted for immediately after the disaster, and is safe. We remain fully committed to our clients in Japan and to the country as a whole, and will continue to support them as we always have during the ongoing recovery from this crisis."

RGA offices around the world have initiated fundraising collections from employees to gather additional aid donations to support relief efforts.
