PSG Konsult Corporate teams up to grow its Short term capability

28 June 2011 | People and Companies | News | PSG

Two companies with complementary capabilities have announced the integration of their short term brokerage services. PSG Konsult Corporate (PSGKC) and Pleroma Insurance Brokers, look forward to a highly successful national operation.

Hans de Nysschen, CEO of PSGKC says, ‘the amalgamation is an excellent strategic alliance - a good fit. The rationale behind it is to combine the strengths of both companies which are leaders in their specific fields and utilise and grow their footprints in different geographical areas in South Africa.’

PSGKC one of the largest independent financial services intermediary in South Africa and has a strong presence in Gauteng, while Pleroma is one of the largest short term brokerages in the Western Cape –serving not only the Metropole but vast rural areas around it. De Nysschen says, ‘The focus for PSGKC until now has been on health care and employee benefits so we welcome the platform Pleroma provides. We will launch short term brokerage and offer our clients an integrated product and promote cross selling. De Nysschen believes that by, ‘Combining the strengths, operations and skills of both brands, we will create a formidable operation.’

‘We have been looking to grow our short term capability and Pleroma’s expertise in this area under the strong leadership of CEO Bertus Oosthuizen, was the logical choice. We are privileged to retain Oosthuizen, a seasoned business man with a wealth of experience in the short term game.

Specialised skills in short term insurance are hard to come by but Oosthuizen and his team have proved their worth many times over. Pleroma has excellent systems in place, an extensive Western Cape base supported by four offices and offers end to end efficiency –the entire value chain from quote to claims management. Their large client base, consisting of many high profile clients is testimony to their expertise in their field. In turn, PSGKC offers substantial back up and depth from the entire corporate team and associated companies within the group.

The team will introduce clients to the extended value to be found in terms of integrated financial services and solutions including:

Financial planning and advisory needs, Investment planning (including offshore), Equity trading services, Employee Benefits including Retirement and Healthcare consulting services and solutions.

.

De Nysschen explains that from an operational point of view the business will continue as usual with all Pleroma staff remaining in the service of PSGKC, with Oosthuizen as head of the business. Branding under the new banner of PSGKC will be implemented slowly.

PSGK Corporate is part of the PSG Konsult Group, one of the largest independent financial services providers in South Africa today and focused on serving the SME, institutional and public sector markets.
