SAIA Consumer Education initiative recognised as ‘best practice’

In its latest infographic on “The importance of financial education in promoting financial inclusion”, the Belgium based Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA) commended the South African Insurance Association (SAIA)’s long-standing consumer education programme, as the “best practice” initiative in Africa and among the top 5 globally. The other four examples mentioned came from the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

In an effort to motivate more Grade 10 learners to persevere and set a solid foundation to achieve better marks in Mathematics and Science, the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) Education Trust in partnership with Paper Video is providing all Grade 10 learners with free access to online tutoring.

Glacier Storms River Traverse 2018 : Three fun-filled days of cycling

The Glacier Storms River Traverse took place from 10 -12 August in the scenic Tsitsikamma Valley. The annual, three-day mountain bike stage race, organised by Dryland Event Management, has manageable stage distances ranging from 35 – 65 kms and is geared towards a fun-filled week-end with activities for the family too. The event is popular with both first-time stage racers and experienced riders looking to take in the sights and soak up the relaxed Storms River atmosphere. This year’s event attracted 273 registrations.
