Old Mutual Investment Group’s Diane Radley recognised as Africa’s leading woman in business

African Investor (Ai) has recognised Diane Radley, CEO of Old Mutual Investment Group, as Africa's Leading Woman in Business at the 8th annual Ai CEO Investment Summit Investment & Business Leaders awards celebration in New York over the weekend.
The Ai Investment and Business Leader Awards reward exceptional business practices, economic achievements and investments across Africa, and recognise the institutions and individuals improving the continent’s investment climate.
Radley was up against some tough competition from South Africa and across the continent. On the short list were:
• Maria Ramos, Head of Barclays Africa
• Farai Gundan, Forbes Africa/2015 Young Global Leader
• Mimi Alemayehou, Executive Advisor & Chair of Blackstone Africa Infrastructure LP at The
Blackstone Group
• Clare Akamanzi, Chief Operating Officer at Rwanda Development Board
• Hadeel Ibrahim, a Logistic Specialist at World Bank
• Sola David-Borha, CEO of Stanbic IBTC in Nigeria
• Funke Opeke, CEO of the Nigerian telco MainOne
• Sabine Dall'Omo, Chief Executive of Siemens South Africa
• Alex-Handrah Aimé, MD of Emerging Capital Partners in South Africa
She expressed her pride at receiving the award: “This award showcases the significant recognition of the entire team at Old Mutual Investment Group that has worked so hard to establish us as a leading Africa investment business and promote Africa as an attractive investment destination.”
When choosing Africa’s leading businesswomen, Ai took into account not only their skills and contribution to the business they lead, but also their activities as role models to other businesswomen and their broader contribution to achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.
Old Mutual Investment Group was also nominated for the leading Africa Fund manager and Leader in Sustainable Investment awards, a category including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which won the award.
