Octomate Education Alumna: Anele Tsewu Makes it to the Top 10 of The Insurance Apprentice 2025

The insurance industry witnessed a moment of pride with the premiere of The Insurance Apprentice 2025, which aired on the 17th of July 2025 at 7pm on national television, SABC 3. Anele Tsewu, an alumna of Octomate Education, has successfully secured a place among the Top 10 contestants.

The Journey
Anele Tsewu’s journey in the insurance sector began in 2015, when she enrolled in a learnership for unemployed youth with Iemas Financial Services in Centurion. The programme was delivered by Octomate Education. Commenting on the broadcast of the episode on TV, Mr. Abbot Pfukwa, CEO of Octomate Education, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Tsewu. “I have always been convinced that Anele would make her mark in the industry”, he said, reflecting on Anele’s early promise in 2015.

The group comprised of six learners, most of whom have developed to be respected professionals in the financial services industry. The learners where eager to learn and acquire knowledge from the first day of the learnership. The support from Iemas Financial Services and Octomate Education, provided a strong foundation for their future careers.
“I still vividly remember their final presentation, attended by executives and senior management at Iemas,” Mr. Pfukwa recalled. “The group demonstrated their readiness to take up the challenge and be counted in the industry, much to the satisfaction of the managers present. Their passion for knowledge and career growth set them on a path to greatness.
Over the past decade, Anele Tsewu’s career has been remarkable. She has advanced to the position of Underwriting and Portfolio Manager at Aon, a renowned leader in the insurance sector.
Mr. Pfukwa also took the opportunity to congratulate Ms. Rianet Whitehead and the TIA team. It is inspiring to see what began as a dream now featured on national television. Rianet, the TIA team and the sponsors, have provided a valuable platform for the participants to showcase their knowledge and skills.
