Mutual & Federal tees off in support of underprivileged golfers

06 May 2009 | People and Companies | News | Mutual & Federal

Mutual & Federal, one of South Africa’s largest and most trusted short-term insurance companies hosted its annual Golf Day for brokers at the Johannesburg Country Club on 24 March 2009. Despite a strong wind, the day turned into a striking success with a full field of players participating.

For the second consecutive year, Mutual & Federal added a community builder component to this social event. Norman Mashaba, Gauteng development manager of SA Golf Development Board, and two aspiring golfers were invited to participate in the Golf Day. After the last ball fell on the 18th hole,
R10 000 was donated to this worthy initiative. The donation was made possible by all the generous brokers involved who showed their commitment to the development of the game. The SA Golf Development Board will use the money to continue creating opportunities for young golfers who do not have the facilities to practice their skills.

Mutual & Federal recognises the value of the game in society. It keeps young people off the street and teaches important life skills such as strong values, integrity, self respect and fair play.
Mutual & Federal hopes to continue its support of the SA Golf Development Board and to see more of its young players participating in future.
