Mutual & Federal launches fraud reporting website
LEADING short-term insurer Mutual & Federal has launched a new Tip-off Anonymous website with a tip-off tracking system to ensure built-in accountability and transparency within its fraud reporting processes. The online innovation respects confidentiality at all times.
A unique report-back feature has been designed into the companys new Tip-offs Anonymous website. The facility will further reinforce public confidence in its anti-fraud processes by providing added reassurance that action is taken on all fraud reports.
"The enhancement is part of the insurer's long-standing commitment to corporate integrity and high ethical standards," said Mutual & Federal Managing Director Bruce Campbell.
The insurer's Tip-offs Anonymous website serves both internal and external stakeholders and is designed to fight corruption and promote a fraud-free work environment.
The website complements the insurers existing tip-off hotline for reporting fraud and corruption.
Bruce Campbell added: "A secure environment will encourage individuals to provide us with detailed reports. The more information we receive, the greater our success rate will be as we strive to eradicate the fraudulent activity that not only affects our company, but the short-term insurance industry as a whole."
Experience at Mutual & Federal indicates that 'whistle-blowers' are often keen to know the status of their tip-off.
Gary Benton, Group Secretary at Mutual & Federal, explained: "This will now be possible through the websites feedback tracking mechanism. Visitors to the site will be able to report fraud and track the status of their reports at any given time."
The website is managed by an external service provider, Deloitte Tip-offs Anonymous.
Benton said: "This enhances the website's integrity and promotes sound business ethics. The identity of the person making the tip-off is protected at all times."
Workable feedback loops generate status updates on tip-off reports while the website enables real-time interaction with the associated contact centre. A unique password is then used to track the tip-off.
The website also includes a communication platform containing details of company guidelines, policies and the Mutual & Federal code of ethics.
