Mutual & Federal, a member of the Old Mutual Group, has announced that it is opening its new office in Francistown, on 6 February 2013, to be closer to the local community – among other reasons.
“We are committed to adding value and building real and lasting relationships with the Francistown community”, says Jack Bekker, Managing Director of Mutual & Federal Botswana.
For the past 2 years Mutual & Federal Botswana has been an active sponsor of the Francistown Sports Day which is widely known as one of the biggest family fun days in the country. “A great number of our customers and brokers are members of the Francistown Sports Club, which hosts this event, and we use the occasion to network with them”, confirms Bekker.
In 2012, the company supported the Clifton School fun walk, which was organised as a fund raiser for the new high school. Bekker says that some of their customers’ children attend Clifton High School and that it is important for Mutual & Federal Botswana to support initiatives that add value to its stakeholders.
Besides Francistown, Mutual & Federal Botswana is a partisan of projects such as the Tlamelo Vultures Ruby Club, the Dinaletsana Centre and the Botswana Substance Abuse Network Support in Gaborone as well as the Elephants without Borders in Kasane.
Francistown accounts for 20% percent of Mutual & Federal Botswana’s business which, the company says, is attributed to its knowledge and understanding of the local market.
The opening of the Francistown office is hailed as an extension of the company’s footprint in Botswana - after having opened the first office in Gaborone in 1994.
