Latest Old Mutual products join the Astute platform

28 September 2007 | People and Companies | News | Astute FSE (Financial Services Exchange)

Astute, the financial services exchange used by some 18 000 financial advisers nationally and in Namibia, has announced the addition of Old Mutual's latest retail products to the platform that facilitates financial planning analysis by intermediaries on behalf of their clients.

Hendrik Vermeulen, manager of intermediary information services at Old Mutual South Africa commented: "We are pleased to announce the inclusion of our Max Income product, Greenlight Retrenchment Benefit and Final Expenses Family Benefit in the Astute Consolidated Client Portfolio facility.

"This means that the full range of Old Mutual retail products is now available via the Astute service apart from Galaxy Portfolio Services products, which will also be included in the coming months."

Max Income is a flexible income product that offers the choice of an income solution for a specified term, for life or for retirement. Greenlight's Retrenchment Benefit provides an income for a maximum period of six months in the event of retrenchment, while the Final Expenses Benefit is a stand-alone benefit available through Greenlight risk cover to provide accessible cash on the death of the life covered.

"We are constantly working at increasing the range of product options available to financial advisers on the Astute platform," said managing director Biddie Biddulph. "In this way, we enhance the value intermediaries are able to derive from the Astute portal in terms of accessing and integrating data from different product providers across the financial services industry. As a result, we are delighted with the addition of Old Mutual's new retail products."
