Kent Sweepers (UK) to keep on track with Digicore

Kent Sweepers, a leading UK contract and spot hire specialists for operated and self

drive road sweepers, gully tankers & JCB tele-copic forklifts has awarded a contract

to DigiCore for the development and implementation of sophisticated vehicle tracking

tool. Initially, a bespoke tracking solution, utilising DigiCore’s C-track system, will be

initially fitted on 180 vehicles within the organisation’s operated road sweeper fleet,

service support units and company cars.

The innovative solution will see the tracking system attached direct to a number of

PTO-linked applications enabling Kent Sweepers to monitor the precise status of its

operated road sweepers in the field. Sensors located on the hopper, belly brush and

gutter brush will provide access to detailed operating data including brush and tipping

movements, enabling greater visibility and control over active units.

Kent Sweepers will transmit key information locally via depot work stations and a

plasma screen at its national call centre in Milton Keynes, optimising the scheduling

and job allocation process to increase productivity and enhance asset utilisation. In

addition, data will also be utilised to better respond to customer enquiries and provide

real-time status updates where appropriate.

Elsewhere, the C-track system will also form part of Kent Sweepers’ programme of

green initiatives by offering new insight into the environmental impact of its vehicles,

whilst providing a new way of reducing levels of harmful emissions. By monitoring

real-time movements, Kent Sweepers will be able to ensure vehicles are operated

efficiently and remain on-route to enhance fuel performance and ultimately reduce its

carbon footprint.
