It's three Olympics in a row for Holardite Ramon

30 July 2008 | People and Companies | News | Hollard

Ramon Di Clemente (pictured left) and Shaun Keeling flew to Beijing today and the Hollard staff gathered to raise the roof for the send off. They are not going to Korea with the other athletes because their boat has already been sent to Beijing after their wins in Europe and they need to spend the week prior to the Olympics training in their boat in Beijing. “Other athletes usually don’t have the problem that a boat of around 10 meters presents. We had to send our boat straight to Beijing three weeks ago,” Di Clemente explains.

Three is the top number for these two at the moment: It is Ramon’s third Olympics in a row (Sydney, Athens and now Beijing), Shaun is his third partner in international competition as well as his third partner in being SA Pair Champion and, in addition, the pair have had three big wins this year since pairing up six month ago: SA Championships, bronze at World Cup in Poland and the Silver Goblet at the Henley Royal Regatta. “To qualify for three Olympics in a row is a phenomenal achievement and example of sustained excellence on the world stage and we are proud to have sponsored Ramon for the past eight years,” said Krisen Govender, GM of Marketing and Communications for Hollard.
