Infiniti Insurance today announced that it is sponsoring the Cape Town-based Hamilton Sea Point Rugby Football Club Junior division, catering for the coaching of young players from the predominately disadvantaged background.

The sponsorship will provide the club with financial support, as well as equipment, while the team will play in the Infiniti Insurance’s branded jerseys.

“We are excited to partner with Hamilton and support their mission of providing a fun and competitive environment for rugby players of all levels,” said Sharon Paterson, CEO of Infiniti Insurance. “We believe in the power of sport to bring people together and build community, and we are proud to support this local club which is committed to this course.”

Hamilton Rugby Football Club or Hammies as it is affectionately known, was established on 14 March 1875, making it the oldest rugby football club in South Africa. The club has been providing rugby programmes for young boys and adults in Cape Town and surrounding townships such as Khayelitsha. The club offers a variety of programmes, including juniors and youth teams. The juniors cater for boys from 6 to 14 years of age but this year the junior division expanded to accommodate a U14 team.

“We are thrilled to have Infiniti Insurance as our new title sponsor. Their support will allow us to continue to provide quality rugby programmes for our community, especially for the kids coming from disadvantaged areas like Khayelitsha. Our juniors, the future of our club, have proven to be worthy competitors of the best rugby schools in the province,” said the Club Chairman, Mike Reynolds.

The sponsorship is part of Infiniti Insurance’s commitment to supporting education and sports development. The company has a long history of supporting youth sports, and it is proud to partner with Hammies to help grow the sport of rugby in the area and take young boys away from the streets.

“We are committed to giving back to the communities where we operate, and we believe that supporting local rugby football clubs is a great way to do that,” said Paterson. “Hamilton Sea Point Rugby Football Club is a great example of a club that is making a positive impact on the community, and we are proud to be a part of their success.”
