Inaugural Dr Evil Race, no mean feat for Camargue CEO

12 November 2012 | People and Companies | News | Camargue Underwriting Managers

Co-founder and CEO of Camargue Underwriting Managers, Mitch Marescia, recently completed the first ever Dr Evil Classic MTB Race. Hosted over three days and covering a total of 260kms, this world class mountain bike challenge, toured the beautiful regions

As a guest of Genasys Technologies, Camargue’s IT service provider, Marescia joined a team of three IT bright-sparks, to traverse one of the country’s toughest terrains. When asked about his experience, Marescia commented: “It wasn’t easy spending an entire day in the saddle but the challenge was made all the more worthwhile thanks to the breath-taking scenery. The camaraderie of our group was also amazing, with Genasys the most generous of hosts.”

Marescia was bitten by the cycling bug in 2011, when he was invited to complete the five-day Tour De Tuli through Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Being an empty nester and a so-called ‘recycled teenager’, Marescia wanted to take up some sort of regular outdoor activity away from his daily work that would be completely absorbing. He now completes regular mountain bike (MTB) races and looks forward to getting out of the office and into the mud and dust that comes standard when conquering MTB trails.
