Guardrisk is SA’s number one alternative risk transfer (ART) insurer

03 July 2008 | People and Companies | News | Guardrisk

Guardrisk Insurance has been ranked South Africa’s number one alternative risk transfer (ART) insurer in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ newly released Emerging Trends and Strategic Issues in South African Insurance 2008 survey. This is the third time that the company has taken the top spot in this category in PWC’s biennial survey on the local short-term and life insurance industries.

“What makes this ranking all the more impressive, and authentic, is that it is conferred by Guardrisk’s peers,” says MD, Herman Schoeman (pictured). The ranking reflects SA’s leading ART insurers’ success (performance, presence and momentum) as opposed to mere size. ART insurers were asked to award points to each other and were not allowed to rank their own organization.

Guardrisk scored 24 points compared to the 14 points scored by runner up, Santam – Centriq and the 3 points scored by the third placed, Mutual & Federal.
