Glacier International enhances its offering

28 September 2010 Glacier by Sanlam

Glacier International, launched in January 2010 as part of Glacier by Sanlam’s strategy to expand its solution set to meet the needs of its affluent client base, has enhanced its solution set to offer an innovative way to invest in more volatile markets.

Glacier Financial Solutions (Pty) Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, one of South Africa’s largest life assurers.

Glacier International has partnered with USA-based Milliman, one of the top risk management companies in the world, to provide South African clients with the opportunity to use an investment strategy that cushions returns in collective investment funds in the current volatile international equity and bond markets. Glacier International is currently the only product provider in South Africa offering Milliman’s investment strategy.

A range of nine risk-profiled managed solution funds via UK-based partner GAM (Global Asset Management), a top global asset manager, will also be made available. These are Sanlam International Investment Partners funds with asset allocation and fund selection done by GAM.

Clients can select to invest via an international linked life plan or directly into foreign currency denominated collective investment funds via an international nominee facility.
