A see-saw can represent balance, as well as many other elements to different people depending on your frame of reference. However, to most within the industry, a see-saw may come to mean that you are at the entrance hall to the new Fulcrum offices. Same location, new vibe and energy, Fulcrum now boasts a newly renovated and innovative space that’ll inspire their team, and enable even greater service to their clients.

Inspired by the mantra (that most within the industry share) of taking what you do seriously, and not yourselves, this was a big driver when it came to the Fulcrum office expansion. With zen inspired balconies bearing pod like hanging chairs atop beautiful green grass patches, Fulcrumeers and their clients will have plenty of opportunities for brainstorming sessions and casual conversations outdoors with breath taking views of the city. In planning their new office space, it was also a priority for them to have numerous formal and informal spaces for conversations to take place in a bid to drive communication, interaction and engagement. These spaces can be found scattered around outside and inside, with the latest technology, some areas with views, others totally old school, some with lounge chairs and others for people to stand around casually.

CEO of Fulcrum, Vaughan Jones, is delighted about their new office layout and design. “In my opinion, culture trumps design and our new design reflects the culture of our business and the hugely exciting story we are building here at Fulcrum. Our people are our most valued asset and it was important for us to create an environment that people are both proud of and enjoy working in. If you have big brains and talented people working in your building, you want them bumping into each other – not just sitting behind a lump of wood. Our new space offers a more open plan and flexible environment that will allow for more open communication across our different businesses that will enable the team to remain plugged into the ‘buzz’ and developments of our fast changing business,” Vaughan notes.

Carel Nolte, Head of People & Brand at Fulcrum, noted that it was essential to ensure that the Fulcrum team had an awesome, professional outcome with the renovations, but that the process - for the team - would be as fun and painless as possible. “Starting with a demolition party and ending with cocktails, sushi and our see-saw at our entrance, the team were intimately involved with the project and, as a result, we got a fantastic result. I am especially proud of the numerous formal and informal spaces we have created for; so watch this space for even more innovation as Fulcrum juices flow to fuel our industry!” says Nolte.

In April, and in true Fulcrum style, they hosted a demolition party where their team took turns bashing down the walls with sledgehammers and paintballing the office ceiling, before they said “goodbye” to the old. Almost two months to the day, they revealed their new office space to Fulcrumeers in the form of a “welcome to your new playground” party on Wednesday 10 June which included sushi, see-saws and cocktails all around.
