Emerald's Mandela Day Initiative 2013

22 July 2013 Emerald

This year for International Mandela Day Emerald teamed up with Africa Food for Thought to pack and hand out 1000 food parcels to the children of Lesego Primary School in Muldersdrift.

Emerald secured a donation of R5000 via the Santam CSI funding initiative to contribute towards the cost of the food parcels.

With a 30-strong Emerald Team, along with other volunteers, the food parcels were packed and ready to hand out in a short space of time, and then one parcel handed to each child to take home to their families.

This initiative was hugely successful and rewarding, and we honoured Madiba greatly by participating in this event.
