CIB Insurance Solutions again recognized as an employer choice
CIB Insurance Solutions (CIB) was recently recognised as a local employer of choice by the Deloitte Best Company to Work For Survey 2010. This was the fifth consecutive year that the independent short-term insurance administrator featured in the national survey which reveals the happiest employees across South Africa’s various industries.
Frans Nel, Marketing Manager of CIB, says the survey is an effective tool to gauge how the company is measuring up against other progressive companies in terms of employee satisfaction. “Employee perceptions about their working environment fuel their contribution to the workplace and have a considerable effect on a company’s overall performance. Our participation has been centered on wanting to learn from an independent source how we are doing as far as creating a fun and engaging workplace for our people, from every level of the organisation. We have always said we are prepared to hear the truth, warts and all, of what we are doing right and where we can improve.”
In the survey CIB achieved third place in the Financial Services: Insurance category and ninth place overall in the Medium Sized Companies category in a field that also consisted of globally-affiliated companies such as Pfizer and Flight Centre. CIB was also awarded with a special Five Year Participation Award, which recognises those companies that have participated in the survey for the fifth year in a row, as well as the Deloitte Best Company to Work For Standard of Excellence award – awarded to companies that excel above a standard of excellence set by Deloitte.
“Throughout the years and in everything that we do, we have placed a strong focus on the development of human capital, leveraging their expertise to meet the needs of our biggest critics – the broker community which we serve. We are constantly striving to create an atmosphere that is conducive to high levels of productivity and a motivated and encouraged workforce. We will continue to nurture this environment to ensure that this translates to high levels of customer service and professionalism,” says Nel.
Nia Botha, HR Manager of CIB, says that this year’s results are extremely encouraging, but that the company is not resting on its achievements and is constantly looking to improve all areas of the business. “We are always on the lookout for people that can bring their own unique personality and a positive attitude to work. Being an employer of choice gives us the ability to attract this caliber of people.”
