Centriq shared the gift of giving

Centriq Insurance shared the gift of giving with Twilight Children’s home this year by arranging and taking part in a Christmas fun-day held for the boys on 13 October 2007.

Centriq believes that companies should invest both time and money in Corporate Social Investment to make a positive difference in South Africans’ lives.

The day was a huge success with 67 boys, Father Christmas and all of the TWC staff attending. “You could see that the boys were having a tremendous time by the smiles on their faces,” remembers Blain. Numerous arcade game machines, including parachute ride and foosball machines were hired to ensure an unforgettable day. The boys also enjoyed the delicious party packs, ice-cream and cold-drinks that were readily available. They received an enormous surprise when Father Christmas arrived singing Christmas carols in his combi filled to the brim with Christmas gifts. Centriq also gave a table-tennis table with balls and paddles to TWC as well a fax machine to assist the TWC’s admin staff with their daily tasks.

But, when was it that Centriq became involved with Twilight Children? “We began building a relationship with TWC in 2006 and gave them R20 000 as part of our

’Celebrate the Gift of Giving’ drive,” comments Blain. Throughout the year, Centriq has also given stationery to the home.

What makes TWC so special is that the home attempts to limit, as far as possible, the boys’ exposure to the undesirable aspects of street life.

“TWC aims to provide a quality support structure for the boys and Centriq, no doubt is a very proud TWC supporter,” concludes Blain.
