Cartrack recovers arms cache

03 May 2010 Cartrack

A grey Audi (hijacked in Soshanguve last night) was the setting for the recovery of an arms cache by Cartrack in Danville this morning.

At 06:50am, the Cartrack recovery team was on patrol in Vollenhoven Street in Danville. The team noticed the vehicle, with the four men inside behaving in an erratic manner. The Cartrack team stopped to investigate, at which point the suspects jumped out of the Audi. One of the suspects pointed an R5 rifle at the Cartrack recovery team.

The team responded by drawing their firearms. Warning shots were fired. The suspect pointing the R5 dropped the weapon, and all four hijackers fled the scene.

On further inspection, Cartrack’s team recovered a further two unlicensed R5 rifles, two 9mm pistols, and a large cache of ammunition.
