Camargue - Celebrating Three Significant Milestones

01 September 2009 | People and Companies | News | Camargue Underwriting Managers

Earlier this year, Camargue Underwriting Managers celebrated the achievement of three significant milestones in the life of this young specialist underwriting insurance firm. To recognise the weighty achievements, a group of directors, brokers and partners visited the South of France and the horses of Camargue; an appropriate choice of destination considering that the cornerstones of the business are moulded on the characteristics of these courageous, powerful and enduring animals.

According to Camargue CEO, Mitch Marescia, the company had real reason to celebrate: “Not only have we now been in business for eight years, we have also been flying solo for three years without the backing of our original investment partners who we bought out in 2006. It was also our first partner’s conference which meant we were joined by Lloyd’s of London and Centriq Insurance Company.”

Talking about the growth the company has enjoyed since it opened its doors in 2001, Marescia says that year-on-year the company has surpassed its goals. He puts a lot of this market penetration down to the team of expert specialists at Camargue but adds that: “Probably the most important ingredient that has contributed to our success is the principled manner in which we operate and we will continue to redefine the boundaries of risk management in the ethical, sustainable and socially responsible manner which we are known and respected for.”

Camargue has coverholder status at Lloyd’s of London and writes its business on behalf of Lloyds of London (Brit Syndicate 2987) and Centriq Insurance Company Ltd, on a 70/30 coinsurance basis.
