On Wednesday the 8th of March 2017, Bidvest Insurance hosted a launch event at the Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North to announce their official sponsorship of the Crusaders Rugby Club for the 2017 season.

Sharks and Crusaders players as well as Bidvest Insurance and Crusaders management were in attendance to celebrate this significant partnership which is set to provide the necessary support to grow and improve the state of KZN’s rugby. Vice-Chairman of the Club Sean Jones welcomed all guests and introduced Phillip Donnelly, Managing Director for Bidvest Insurance, who confirmed the company’s commitment to the popular KZN club which follows the trend of recent support provided by Bidvest Insurance to the Sharks rugby team and management. The new team kit was revealed as well as the new branding in and around the club grounds.

“Bidvest Insurance has taken this sponsorship in an attempt to assist KZNRU in bridging the gap between school rugby, club rugby and provincial rugby, (a point stressed by rugby greats such a Gary Teichman, John Plumtree, Ian MacIntosh and John Allan if we want to improve our national rugby status) and by bringing support to club rugby and giving it the exposure it needs to thrive and produce the next great Sharks players and someday, Springboks. We look forward to a great season with the new Bidvest Insurance Crusaders Rugby Club” stated Donnelly.
