With the aim to reinforce healthy living in schools, Bestmed, one of the top five open medical schemes, launched the “We’ve got the Power” campaign at 63 schools across the country on the 1st September 2015 working with popular folk musician, Jeremy Loops.
This school initiative takes the form of a fun challenge that lets the schools and students discover the benefits of living a healthy balanced life by creating unique music videos. The videos must include choreography and fun dance moves that are cool, energetic and happy. The school with the winning video will be entertained with a live performance by Jeremy Loops, which can be used as a fundraising opportunity, amongst other prizes.
Sasja la Grange, Marketing & Communications manager at Bestmed says, “At Bestmed our focus is preventative healthcare. Children are our future and it is our responsibility to empower and motivate them to live a healthy lifestyle. Our aim with this campaign is to highlight healthy lifestyles in a fun and memorable way, which led to us involving one of South Africa’s top artists, Jeremy Loops to educate through a universal language that connects people - music. Bestmed’s strategic pillars are Be Active, Be Safe, Be Nutri-wise, Be Fin-fit and Be Happy, and this challenge addresses all these elements.
“Through this challenge, we are not only educating, but we are also rewarding those who take this effort seriously. We have prizes for the school, for individuals, and we will also donate five trees per school to the Green Pop Initiative, of which Jeremy Loops is an ambassador. We are looking forward to seeing which school has the power,” says la Grange.
