The term ’home’ is relative. What if you don’t have a home at all? Homelessness is a serious issue globally and even in our brief travels within South Africa the enormity of this problem was evident and an eye opener.

Newly appointed BankservAfrica CEO, Chris Hamilton will be joining hundred s of colleagues braving the cold tonight on Mandela Bridge in support of this year’s CEO Sleepout™ for the first time since he arrived in South Africa earlier this May from Australia.

“We decided to support this initiative this year to reinforces my belief of the necessity and importance of initiatives like the CEO Sleepout™ in making a real impact. It also aligns with our belief that education is a vital step towards eradicating homelessness,” Hamilton said.

BankservAfrica pledged R160 000 towards to contribute towards developing stronger, more self-sufficient and educated communities.

“While one night is not enough to fully experience and understand the difficulties homeless people face, I hope it will help raise empathy and support,” he adds.
