Art Insure: Recovery of Irma Stern painting at 5am this morning

After a long night the owner of the works received a call at 3h30 this morning to advise him that the paintings may be on the point of recovery. Just before 06h00 I received a call to confirm that the works had been recovered, were with the owner and that the suspect was in police custody. Thankfully the works appear unharmed.

I would like to thank you for your prompt response to this event.

The owner would like to remain anonymous however I have just received this mail from him which he wanted me to send to our network.

(Reference to ‘Norman’ in his mail is the investigator and recovery agent used locally to work within his network to secure recovery.)

“Dear Gordon

As per our conversation this morning: My utmost thanks for all the effort you and Norman put into assisting in the recovery of these paintings. I think it is very important that you publisise the fact that the earlier one reports the theft, the sooner the wheels are in motion towards recovery.

Normans services were paramount in the recovery of these works of art and I think it is important that you publisise the fact that with this specialized service along with early action it is possible to recover your stolen property…………”
