Aon narrows gap with Marsh, survey finds

Aon Corporation was rated as one of the leading insurance brokers in the United States in a UBS survey of top insurance brokers, which was released earlier this month. UBS is a leading global wealth manager, investment banking and securities firm.

Twenty-eight percent of risk managers at upper middle-market and large companies voted Aon corporation as the top insurance broker showing a steady increase in confidence in the insurance company. In November 2006, Aon received 24% of the votes and in November 2005, 14% of the votes.

Marsh maintained the top spot, receiving 33% of the votes however this figure is down from 41% in November 2006 and 48% in 2005.

Chigaco-based Aon is expected to continue to grow as a firm favourite, with organic revenue growth at Aon's main risk and insurance brokerage division amounting to 3.2% for 2007 up from a previous forecast of 2.3%.
