Aon celebrates 20 years by giving back to South Africa
Aon Corporation is celebrating an important milestone this month -- on April 24 1987, Aon began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol AOC.
To commemorate this anniversary, the Aon office in South Africa is celebrating by giving each Aon employee an electronic voucher to invest in a project of their choice on the SA Social Investment Exchange (SASIX), a GreaterGood South Africa initiative.
"Our commitment to corporate giving is consistent with our corporate philosophy of improving the quality of life, and providing employees with an enjoyable and rewarding work environment," says Athene van Mazijk, COO of Aon South Africa.
The employees also enjoyed a lunchtime celebration on Thursday, April 26.
The South African office is one of more than 150 around the world participating in community outreach on or around April 24.
"We are excited to mark this milestone in our history. Aon prides itself on the distinctive value and impact we bring to client business, and on April
24 we will be proud to share that same can-do spirit with the communities around the world that have supported Aon throughout the years," says van Mazijk.
