Alternative revenue streams and alternative points of view
We distributed newsletters concerning an opportunity with Cell C connect, and got a bunch of responses.
What became immediately apparent was that there are two schools of thought when it comes to identifying alternative revenue streams.
On one hand it appears that some readers took offence to the opportunity of becoming a franchise owner. While on the other hand it appears that some readers are always on the look out for opportunities to diversify their perceived risk and look for alternative revenue streams.
The fact is that FA News is based on the premise that readers are open-minded enough and we have an obligation to provide information on opportunities that present themselves hence the Cell C connect opportunity.
Speaking of opportunities it has also come to our attention that MTN Banking may be an opportunity for readers to get involved and become a channel to people looking to open mobile bank accounts.
While it doesnt have to be focused on the telephony market, there are a myriad of opportunities out there. Perhaps its time to do a financial needs analysis on yourself and determine your risk profile.
I think the point I am making is that readers should look to their business models and decided whether it is still appropriate and whether it is perhaps time to look at diversifying or expanding your offering.
It doesnt have to interfere with your core business of providing advice, but it may well be your opportunity to get involved in empowering people who work with you, and getting involved on a shareholder level.
